Sian and David 6 May 2017

One of these days I shall work out how to HandFast!  This was Sian and David's wedding in what I have to confess a location I had never known about.  It was in the garden above the Festival Theatre in Pitlochry.  I had seen the signs but never ventured there.  It is well worth a visit.  We are standing on the veranda.

The location for their wedding was picked as Pitlochry has played a major role in their lives, they first met there and spent a lot of time exploring the area so it made sense for them to celebrate their love and commitment in a place which meant so much to them.

Availability in 2017

Due to my health problems in 2016, I was not looking to take on bookings in 2017 in case I was unable to complete them.  Fortunately, due to the skills of the surgeons and the follow-up physiotherapy and gym sessions, I am now healthier than I have been (in hindsight) for at least two-three years.

This means that I have quite a number of dates available from the beginning of July 2017 onwards should you be looking for someone to conduct your Humanist wedding.

Sadly, one part of my work is conducting funerals.  This recent funeral was particularly sad in that it was in May 2016, I married the deceased.  He had just had a major operation for cancer and whilst we were all hopeful, unfortunately, he succumbed to his illness in January.

He loved his John Deere tractor and had this coffin made for him with it.  His final journey from the village hall to the cemetery was by his beloved tractor and trailer. Whilst a sad occasion, his funeral was not a sad event.  He was an outgoing person and the stories told by friends and myself brought out much laughter.  It was a happy ending to an all too short life.
